Shawn G Anthony, MD, MBA

Dr. Shawn G. Anthony is a Harvard-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports-related injuries and arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. Part of the distinguished Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice, Dr. Anthony serves an Assistant Professor of Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery at the renowned Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, consistently ranked as one of the top medical schools in the U.S.

Dr. Anthony completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City where he provided medical coverage for the New York Knicks NBA team, New York Red Bulls MLS team, and New York PSAL high school football. Dr. Anthony is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) orthopaedic consultant and provides courtside medical coverage for players at the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.

Dr. Anthony specializes in a wide variety of conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee as well as general orthopedics and trauma. He has special interest and expertise in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, advanced cartilage restoration procedures (microfracture, osteochondral allografts, PRP, stem cell therapies), knee ligament reconstruction (ACL, PCL), meniscal injuries, shoulder instability and rotator cuff tears, shoulder replacements, and hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Anthony has over thirty publications and presentations at national and international meetings and holds multiple U.S. Patents on orthopedic technologies. Dr. Anthony is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Located at Mount Sinai West and part of the Mount Sinai Faculty Practice at the Icahn School of Medicine, Dr. Anthony is committed to providing the latest evidence-based care and minimally invasive surgical techniques to his patients.
